Ardagh and Clonmacnois Diocesan Youth Ministry

Ardagh and Clonmacnois Youth Ministry (AYM) are currently looking to implement the national framework for youth ministry and a working group has been set up to re-evaluate Youth Ministry within the Diocese under the guidance of Fr Patsy McDermott (Diocesan Youth Director).

A series of six objectives have been defined towards which the Youth Ministry team will work; these are as follows:
1 To provide the young people of the Diocese with a sense of belonging
2 To provide the young people of the Diocese with a witness to the lived Gospel
3 To support the young people of the Diocese with basic human needs, based on Jesus' words in Matthew 25
4 To provide young adult catechesis
5 To offer the young people of the Diocese a holistic Church
6 To challenge the young people of the Diocese to a committed Christianity
A "champion" has been nominated to oversee each of these objectives. The Diocesan Youth Ministry Team and champions will be able to provide support for parishes willing to develop their youth ministry programme. Each champion is listed below:

• To provide young adult catechesis
• To offer young people a holistic Church
• To challenge young people to a committed Christianity
